TRX stands for Total Resistance Exercise. The TRX system is relatively easy to learn and works well for individuals at all fitness levels. Our workouts consist of a series of movements with your hands or feet in the TRX straps. Over 300 moves have been developed including options for beginning through advanced practitioners. One advantage of working with the straps is that you can't help but engage your core muscles while doing virtually every TRX move. Lack of core fitness leads to increasing problems for us as we age. If you train with TRX, you will develop core strength while working not only the target muscles but also a number of small stabilizer muscles. Keeping stabilizer muscles active can limit your risk of injury and can help improve your balance. TRX also results in high caloric burn while exercising because you will usually be holding a plank (core engaged) as you simultaneously work the main muscles you are targeting. The more muscle groups you engage, the higher your caloric burn. 

CRUfit TRX Tone & Sculpt (2 credits) Instructors combine work on the TRX Suspension Trainer with other strength training accessories to create a fun workout designed to tone your entire body. TRX is an efficient full-body strength training tool that can help you sculpt your shoulders, arms, back, abs, legs and butt. Like our TRX Circuit classes, instructors demonstrate variations on specific exercises to allow participants to train at the level that works for them.

CRUfit TRX Circuit (2 credits) A similar mix of movements to TRX Tone & Sculpt, plus periodic segments of cardiovascular exercise designed to keep participant heart rates up throughout the session. Instructors demonstrate variations on movement patterns to allow all participants to train at the level that works for them. CRUFit TRX & Kettlebell Circuit (2 credits) This class adds basic kettlebell movements to our standard TRX Circuit offering. Kettlebells are a wonderful tool for developing strength and coordination. TRX is an efficient full-body strength training tool that can help you sculpt your shoulders, arms, back, abs, legs and glutes. Instructors demonstrate variations on movement patterns to allow all participants to train at the level that works for them.
