Byron has been training in Boxing and Muay Thai Kickboxing for the last 11 years. Byron has competed in numerous exhibition and amateur muay thai and boxing events all over the Bay Area. Byron brings a unique, engaging, fun and explosive style to his classes. Whether teaching a class of 15 people or one individual, he has a very technical and patient approach to overall fitness and teaching which always leaves you sweating, yet encouraged and wanting to come back for more, meet your goals, and fine-tune your skills. Byron currently runs a youth kickboxing/boxing program in Oakland where he teaches kids aged 7 to 16, as well as adults.
Byron was born in Georgia to a military parent and went on to also live in Germany and Hawaii. He was introduced to boxing on the Schofield Barracks Army base while stationed in Hawaii, from a coach who once trained former heavyweight champion Ray Mercer. After moving to Oakland to finish up high school at Oakland Tech, he got into Dj’ing, producing music, and Real Estate, before taking on the role of coach and teacher.
“Learning Boxing and Muay Thai pretty much brought on a complete lifestyle change. Aside from learning how to defend myself and how to fight, I learned the importance of discipline that helped me in other aspects of life.” - Byron Green
