A native San Franciscan (and Giants fan), Mark has spent his entire life in the Bay Area. He received an undergraduate degree from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. Mark spent more than 15 years as a tax accountant. In 1998, Mark discovered Spinning, and began training regularly with Master Instructor, Jim Karanas. Under Jim's guidance, Mark became an endurance athlete and developed an interest in road cycling that led to the completion of many long-distance cycling events. He transitioned to racing and competed as an amateur Category 4 racer for a couple seasons. Mark's passion for cycling led him to become a Spin instructor in 2008. In 2009, Mark became fully committed to the fitness profession and began teaching Performance Max (PMAX) classes. Mark is a skilled cyclist and enjoys leading group rides and helping his students realize their cycling goals. Mark's believes a good instructor brings personal experiences from the road into the classroom and that his interest in his students extends beyond the classroom walls.
